Lawrence,
I miss the days seeing you visit Judy at Gelber. You were one joyful and funny guy. I miss our bantering back and forth. You are missed. Best wishes to you.
Your old friend,
Rich

Dearest Dad
As I sit here composing this note to you, I can’t seem to shake the empty feeling I have in my heart on this, your funeral day. I know that as the eldest I am supposed to be strong for the family but I am struggling to find that strength. I am grateful that we had some time together to share our thoughts and our stories but it wasn’t enough…it never is. I have so much more to say. I know that you knew how much I loved you but I would have liked the chance to tell you again. I am so sorry for all of your suffering. You leave such a wonderful legacy of love for family and the merits of living a simple life. I will try and honor those with my family. There is no doubt that I have become the person I am today because of you. You taught me about the important things in life…honesty, integrity, the value of an education, and commitment to family. I strive to embrace all of these in my life and I have worked hard to make you proud. I wish that we could have had more time together, that you could have shared in more of your grandchildren’s lives. I know that we have been blessed to have you in our lives as long as we have but that doesn’t make it any easier to have to say goodbye.
Rest easy my father, my friend, my mentor and my warrior hero. Your suffering is over, your burden lifted. Be at peace. We all love you and will cherish all of our memories. Through these memories, you will live forever in our hearts. I love you and miss you terribly.
Love Always,
Michael
